Christy Harrison is a journalist, a registered dietitian who practices from an anti-diet perspective, and a certified intuitive eating counselor. She is the author of Anti-Diet: Reclaim your Time, Money, Wellbeing and Happiness through Intuitive Eating and her new book, The Wellness Trap will be coming out in 2023. Her writing has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Shape, Refinery 29 and The Food Network. Christy is the creator and host for the podcast Food Psych, which she started in 2013 and is now entering its final season. On Food Psych, Christy talks to numerous guests and experts with diverse perspectives about food and body image. In this episode, Christy talks with Elizabeth and Dana about the need to oppose diet culture in all its various forms, including the “wellness” industry. She shares how schools are a common source for weight bias and her thoughts on how teachers can help students have a more positive relationship with their bodies and food.
